49d486f2b9455_wartsilaWith a move of some 100 m down the road, Wärtsilä Netherlands BV last Friday officially opened its new 3,000m2 modern premises in IJmuiden, the Netherlands. “Compared to the previous premises of 560 m2, we have made a huge improvement in space. This means that from this service location, we can offer so much more support to our customers”, says Job van der Burgt, vice-president Services Wärtsilä Netherlands BV. The IJmuiden location maintains and revises ship engines and propulsion systems. The new premises include office space, an in-house training room and an impressive workshop. With this additional space, Wärtsilä can work on larger engines and propulsion systems. Also, the new location offers the opportunity to convey knowledge to the customers and employees on products and product updates, quickly and efficiently. With this expansion in space, Wärtsilä will create five additional jobs in IJmuiden.
