DNV Type Approval Geislinger Vdamp Range
Geislinger was recently granted the DNV Type Approval for its Vdamp products. The type approval for the Vdamp product range is an important feat, as it ensures the highest quality standards, from design stage to production. It also facilitates the use of Geislinger dampers in two-stroke applications, where the Vdamp protects the propeller or camshaft from damage by torsional vibrations. Contrary to four-stroke engines, the damper is a crucial safety element in these applications and has to be classified. But also for these applications the DNV type approval for the Geislinger Vdamp provides a safe feeling. Geislinger claims to have carried out extensive research and testing on the silicone oils used – with the result of a revolutionary calculation model for viscous dampers to perfectly suit the torsional vibration behaviour of the system.
