The Winner Takes it All
Offshore Industry has played a major role in the 7th Rotterdam Port Tennis Tournament 2009 by winning two titles in the men doubles. Organized by Royal Dirkzwager on 18 June 2009 in Hoek van Holland, the maritime network tennis tournament was held for the seventh consecutive time and featured no less than 66 doubles. The first prize in the strongest group of the men doubles was awarded to Offshore Industry’s first team consisting of Marco Geels (Commercial Director Y&F) and his double partner Hans Verhaagen (Business Account Manager ING Bank). The second team of Yellow & Finch was successful in another category of the men doubles where Dennis Vinkoert (Publisher/Chief Executive Editor) and his double partner Raymond Siliakis (Trade Fair Manager Ahoy Rotterdam) ended as runner up. The maritime tennis network event was privileged by a visit of former Wimbledon champion and current tournament director of the World Tennis Tournament Rotterdam, Richard Krajicek. The former Wimbledon winner provided a tennis clinic thereby giving a number of players ample opportunity to beat him on gravel court (without any success).
