40 Knots Ghost Yacht

g180vFollowing the presentation of the G180 last December, Ghost Yachts now introduced this semi-custom high performance yacht; the Ghost G180V. It is developed by Ghost Yachts and design partner Gloss Design, with naval architecture by Van Oossanen & Associates. This 370 tons yacht has a top speed of 40 knots.

Parallel to the development of the Ghost G180, Ghost Yachts was determined to develop a suitable alternative for fast large planing and semi-displacement yachts within the 500 Gross Tons limits. Its design is based on the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) principal. Two MTU 20V engines propel the yacht to a 34 knots top speed and a 31 knots cruising speed. An optional Vericor TF50 booster unit with waterjet raises the bar to 40 knots. The FDHF hull also provides the option for cruising at displacement speeds and transatlantic range at a 15 knots passage speed. Ghost Yachts and Jongert Shipyard have entered into an agreement to cooperate in the building of the 55 meter motor yacht G180, which was introduced earlier. For this project too, Ghost Yachts points out Jongert Shipyard for “a smooth and swift construction process which meets the highest Dutch quality standards”.
