Leading international oilfield service company Expro has enhanced its commitment to industry-leading safety performance by winning a major award for its Australian operations. Expro was awarded the influential IFAP/CGU Safe Way Achiever Award at Gold level by demonstrating ‘best practice’ in its occupational health and safety management systems. The company was assessed using a combination of self-audits, independent desk-audits and supporting documentation to determine its commitment to safety through excellence in training, established systems and procedures, and achievement of safety objectives.

Through developing and implementing a process of continuous improvement, Expro demonstrated that its safety performance was of the highest standard. This was also highlighted with the award of a second honor from the Safe Way Achiever Awards for achieving six months without a lost time injury. Expro’s Australasia area recently recorded four years with no lost time incident. Australia is a significant growth area for Expro and, in recent years, a number of major contracts have been secured. Fifty employees are currently working across the region in locations such as Perth, Canning Vale, Darwin and Adelaide.

This significant achievement marks the latest milestone in Expro’s Excellence in Operations programme, which has the delivery of outstanding safety performance, service quality and customer care at its heart.

Expro’s Australia HSEQC adviser, Terry Haines, said: “We are very pleased to have received this major award and to have recorded such a significant safety achievement. This is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team. We pride ourselves on delivering service excellence – and safe, quality operations are crucial to this.”

IFAP’s Managing Director, Martin Ralph, said: “Expro should be very proud of this achievement. The Safe Way Awards program aims to recognise those organisations operating at the highest level and is constantly raising the bar to ensure that these organisations are being pushed towards continuous improvement. Gold Safe Way Award recipients are audited by IFAP to ensure they are consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to safety within their organisation.”
