Offshore Genset Deal
DBR and MTU Detroit Diesel Benelux chose the recent On & Offshore Industry event in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, to add yet another chapter to their cooperation. Herwin Roodenburg (right) – General Manager DBR Generatorsets – announced the manufacture of an additional four 2,120kVA, 690V, 50 Hz DBR offshore genset packages, based on an of course equal amount of MTU 16V4000P61 diesel engines.
With a firm handshake Herwin Roodenburg and Alex Romein – Sales Engineer at MTU Detroit Diesel Benelux – sealed the deal, “worth several millions”‘ stated Roodenburg. This new agreement came more or less as a supplement to three identical genset packages manufactured at the end of 2009. A triple package will be delivered to a newbuild drill rig; the other four auxiliary offshore packages are to be equally divided between two newbuild jack-up rigs.
Power supply packaging for the offshore & marine is the core business of DBR BV. DBR has a reliable reputation as independent packager in producing custom made generator sets, pump sets, hydraulic and combi packages worldwide. DBR BV consists of three business units DBR Generatorsets, DBR Pumps & Parts and DBR Yacht Systems, located in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands, with a total area of over 5000 sq. m, including 2,500 sq. m production facilities.
DBR has unlimited possibilities and lifting capacity of more than 30 t. Generator sets from 80 kVA up to 4000 kVA and pump sets up to 2000 kW diesel power can be engineered, manufactured and tested with in-house facilities. The ISO 9001 and a VCA** certified company packages diesel and gas generator sets according to the specific quality and safety legislative demands of the shipping and offshore industry. Their generator sets are manufactured according to the rules of ABS, LRS, BV and GL and emission CCR and IMO/EIAPP.
