Lunch & Learn: Improving Offshore Well Integrity

icota_chairman_200Petroleum Technology Company‘s (PTC) solutions for improving the safety and efficiency of well interventions will be the focus of the latest lunch and learn session, hosted by the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) European Chapter, to be held at The Marcliffe at Pitfodels Hotel in Aberdeen Tuesday, 21 February, from 11.45 am to 1.45 pm. It is the second in a series of ICoTA Europe leading up to the organisation’s 7th Well Intervention Seminar in May.

PTC’s business development advisor, Alan Brodie, will discuss their technologies, which have a proven track record in enhancing well integrity reliability and productivity, thereby saving downtime during processes such as annulus pressure and integrity management, gas lifting, chemical injection, and jet pumping.
ICoTA Europe chairman, Rob Grassick (picture), said: “ICoTA Europe recognises the importance of pushing the boundaries in order to maximise future oil production. We are delighted that Alan will be joining us at this event, sharing his technical expertise while helping us promote innovation and industry accepted practices.”

Wellhead intervention Focus
Brodie will focus on PTC’s lightweight, compact (telescopic) lubricator system and toolkit for valve removal (VR) profile repair and wellhead VR plug and valve operations. The system makes annulus line wellhead interventions significantly easier and safer than before.
Other technologies that will be presented at the session will include the company’s compact lubricator and plug system, used during christmas tree maintenance operations, and a wellhead check valve system for operations in which hydrocarbons are allowed to pass into the control line.

Advanced Booking
Grassick added: “We are expecting a healthy turnout of members and non members to discuss PTC’s unique technological solutions, and I would welcome anyone with an interest to come along. Our events are a great way to network with some of the leading figures in the European intervention and coiled tubing industry and there are plenty of opportunities for stimulating debate.” Advanced booking is essential. Places can be booked online at www.rodgerandco.com or by emailing icota@rodgerandco.com.
