ShipBuilding Industry Vol. 7 No. 6

Welcome to the December/January 2013/2014 issue of Shipbuilding Industry magazine. In this edition we show you Oceanex Connaigra, the largest Canadian Flag ConRo vessel build by the German Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG). In our shipbuilding technology section, Norway’s Kleven demonstrates its proficiency in highly advanced offshore vessels. And we go on board Jan De Nul Group’s Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) Bartolomeu Dias, which was designed with a focus on environmental impact and built by Uljanik Shipyard in Croatia.

As this issue is our Germany special, we show you two more German eco-friendly ships. First up is Sonne, the research vessel currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The second eco-friendly vessel is MYA II built by Fasser Shipyard. This Wadden Sea researcher received Ecospeed hull protection. Read more about these vessels, shipbuilding technology, paint systems & coatings and other ship reports in SBI Vol. 7 No.6.
