Dovaston Crew CEO Phil Edwards is delighted to announce that the Palma based crew agency is the latest acquisition for the prestigious Sovren House Group. Dovaston Crew are facing an exciting new era as they move under the umbrella of Sovren House, reaping all the benefits of larger more influential entity.

The Sovren House Group currently own and operate The Nautical Academy (NA Yachts and NA Commercial), Sovren House (SH), International Yacht Register (IYR), IY Blue (U.S. division of IYR) and Sovren Magazine. The group is committed to creating and operating a-well rounded business with continued growth, via increased sales and expansion and will be bringing further assets into the fold within the coming months including a private aviation company Sovren Air and a wealth management company.

“A recruitment company was the next natural progression for the group,” explained Phil Edwards, “Dovaston Crew’s reputation for quality and reliability make it a perfect fit. Dovaston celebrated its 20th year in business this year and coupled with the latest MLC2006 accreditation, I’m confident, that under new ownership, the recruitment agency will be around for another 20 or more!”

The acquisition continues an 18-month development program for the Sovren House Group and although the official announcement will take place at this year’s Palma Crew Show on the 25th April, the group already has expansion plans in action. Dovaston Crew will shortly be opening offices in Barcelona and the Nautical Academy will be commencing training courses in Palma de Mallorca. The Nautical Academy is going from strength to strength, providing yacht crew with the unique opportunity to complete accredited training courses across all departments, including Deck, Engineering, Interior and Culinary. This month saw the NA run the first STCW 95/2010 and advanced fire-fighting courses from the new fire training facility in Barcelona.

Other companies within the group, IYR & IY Blue offering Yacht Management and Brokerage Services will now be in a stronger position to offer their clients a much more comprehensive, personalised and dedicated service with unbeatable product choices and preferred rates through Dovaston Crew. The group’s proud association with Setai Yachts will also help create natural synergies across the group with the Nautical Academy delivering Setai’s tried and tested, 7-star training in service and hospitality on-board yachts and commercial vessels alike.

Dovaston Crew’s reputation and longevity are testament to their knowledge and professionalism. Placing crew is so much more than matching a CV to a job vacancy, it is about knowing and understanding the unique pressures of yachting maritime industry and treating each client as an individual.

The Dovaston brand is one of the most respected and recognised names in yachting. ‘Dovaston Crew, setting the standard’ is not just the mission but also the fundamental philosophy of the company.

As they sail into the new season with Dovaston on-board, the Sovren House Group can now offer their clients, an enhanced personnel service with a greater choice of highly trained and well qualified, professional yacht crew.
