Lubbers Transport Group opens new base in IJmuiden

Lubbers Transport Group (LTG), the upstream oil and gas logistics specialist, has announced the opening of its new base in IJmuiden, Holland, following increased business in the region.

The 6,000m2 multipurpose base – which can easily be enlarged when needed – was opened in September and already has seventeen vehicles operating from the facility with almost 20 drivers. It also boasts an internal storage capacity of 250m2 and external yard space covering 5.750m2. It is ideally located in IJmuiden Harbour industrial zone, providing efficient access to the vital ferry link that runs to Newcastle, in the UK.

Lubbers operations manager Marc Stroosma commented: “Service equipment including drill bits, drill pipes, pumps and reels are constantly moved between The Netherlands and the United Kingdom so the location of the base is fantastic.

“Investment in the new facilities demonstrates Lubbers continuous commitment to provide logistics solutions in the region and will play a key part in the growth of our network in the West Netherlands and the wider European market.”

The premises and warehouse are Authorised Economic Operator approved which is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating security and customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant.

The facilities also hold ISO accreditations; 18001, 14001, 9001, which provide a code of standards for quality management, criteria for EMS and codes for safe and healthy working environments.

The new base will offer upstream oil and gas customers all the logistics services they need with a fleet of vehicles as well as handling equipment such as trailer and heavy forklifts, so a logistics solution is always at hand.

Lubbers can also now provide an effective service during journeys where the cargo has to be removed during the transportation to and from drilling locations resulting in an efficient service for customers.
