Fishing Seiner Ready for Work

Fishing trawler m/v Ruth has been delivered to its owner and is the third purse seiner trawler which Nauta has built at the request of Karstensens Skibsvaerft.

In 2014 Nauta delivered two similar ships – m/v Haugagut and m/v Kvannoy. On December 2015 Nauta launched another vessel for this client– fishing seiner m/v Beinur.

Total building of the partly outfitted hull of the Ruth lasted for 10 months including building the steel hull, installation of steel outfitting, piping, metalisation and installation of most machineries.

Ruth is the largest fishing seiner under Dannish flag, with dimensions of over 87 m in length and 16,6 m in beam. Vessel is adapted for the transportation of live fish in seawater  tanks. It is also equipped with main propulsion diesel engine and features modern technical solutions and electronic Fishing Policy. Ruth operates primarily on herring and mackerel, but also has quotas for blue whiting, sandeel and sprat, and is built to alternate between purse seining and pelagic trawling.
