AYOP Appoints Business Development Manager

Dorothy WintersAs of June, Dorothy Winters has joined the Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Port (AYOP) as Offshore Business Development Manager with a special focus on offshore wind. It is in the interest of the North Sea Canal region to highlight the location and qualities of the companies established in this area for the installation and maintenance of the planned wind farms.

Wind energy in the Netherlands will grow exponentially over the next five to eight years, with three newly planned wind farms generating a tenfold increase (3.500MW) over the current installed capacity. “Most of the wind farms will be directly on our doorstep,” Dorothy Winters says. “And this is only the beginning. Offshore wind has the wind in its sails.”

The AYOP market approach is being rolled out on the basis of the wind@work2.0 program, with an emphasis on forming a recognisable central input for decision-makers in the market and other relevant parties. Winters will point to the individual and joint competencies of companies in the North Sea Canal that are relevant to achieving smart and cost-effective solutions. The tasks of the business development manager will include a focus on renewables and offshore oil & gas, including decommissioning. Winters previously combined two functions: marketer at Port of Amsterdam and offshore wind program manager at AYOP.
