FSG Delivers Well Intervention Vessel Siem Helix I


P1080198Flensburger-Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) is pleased to announce the delivery of the well intervention vessel Siem Helix I. The vessel is the first of a series of two ordered by Siem Offshore in February 2014 and will be operated by Helix Energy Solutions to execute subsea well intervention operations for Petrobras in Brazil.

The vessel is a SALT design and one of the most complex ships in the world of its kind and reflects the unique capabilities of FSG to detail design and build tailor-made and advanced ship types.

On behalf of all shipyard’s workers, the management whishes good fortune to all seafarers that will serve on board the Siem Helix I and thanks the owners Siem Offshore for entrusting FSG with this complex and challenging project. The management would also like to thank all FSG’s workers, owner’s inspectors, subcontractors and suppliers for all the hard work and dedication that made this endeavor successful.

The vessel was designed and built to execute:

  • Well intervention and light workover operations according to Well Intervention Unit 2 notation
  • Well decommissioning activities
  • Offshore crane operations
  • ROV operations

The vessel is classed by DNVGL with the following class notations: *1A1, E0, DYNPOS AURO, COMF C(3), Clean Design, BIS, NAUT-OSV(A), ICE-C, DK(+), TMON, COMF V(2), HELDK-SH, CRANE, Ship Shaped Well Intervention Unit 2
