Sif Group, based in Roermond, and BOW Terminal Vlissingen have recently signed an agreement for renewed cooperation. This relates to the coordination and implementation of both horizontal and vertical transport for all Sif Group projects at the new construction, storage and load-out terminal covering over 40ha and situated at Maasvlakte 2 in Rotterdam. The works will commence in late August.

For Sif, this renewed collaboration derives from the experience and trust that both companies built up during their work together on previous projects at the terminal in Vlissingen. For BOW Terminal, this latest cooperation provides the opportunity to develop their own activities in Rotterdam alongside the logistical services for Sif. Both parties see the collaboration as an important step in starting up and professionalising the logistics of the new terminal at Maasvlakte 2. Mr Jan Bruggenthijs, CEO of Sif Group, states that with this cooperation the best possible service can be provided to the owners of installation ships used for offshore wind foundations, ranging from the supply of foundation components, with weights of up to 2000 tonnes, to crew changes.

Ludolf Reijntjes, Managing Director of BOW Terminal, also sees many opportunities. “The fact that Sif Group has chosen BOW is something we see as a real testament to the good service provision in the past. We will ensure that the new collaboration is a success. The site on the Maasvlakte 2 is also large enough to initiate other activities alongside offshore wind. Having a deepwater quay and logistics equipment really allows for any number of possibilities.”
