Milestone for ABUCO – 50th Gangway Delivered
With the completion of the parts for the 50th Ampelmann Walk-to-Work system, ABUCO reached an absolute milestone. Since 2009 ABUCO is active in the production of parts for this offshore access system for Ampelmann Operations.
On Friday October 21, ABUCO completed an Ampelmann W2W system of the type GXXL. It is the eight system of this type, which is equiped with a 30m long gangway. ABUCO Director Jack Wagenaar: “In 2009 we started with the construction of the parts for the A-type. This type has a gangway with a length of 20m. We built five in total. Then we constructed 37 systems of the GXL with a 25m gangway. And now we already built number eight from the GXXL type. We are proud that we have been able to achieve this milestone of fifty W2W systems together with Ampelmann.”
Remarkably, the inventor of this innovative system also reached a milestone this month with the passage of more than three million safe transfers in 200 projects worldwide. Currently Abuco and Ampelmann are working on a offshore access system for polar regions.
