Vanquish Starts Build of New VQ54

unspecifiedVanquish Yachts in the Netherlands has started construction of two powerboats in its mighty new VQ54 line. Based on the successful VQ48, this latest benchmark for superlative fun on the water comes with the award-winning MAN i6-800 diesel engines and its own tender garage. Moreover, the VQ54 can also serve as a fantastic tender to a superyacht, offering a phenomenal boat-within-a-boat-within-a-boat arrangement. The owner of the first of these two new VQ54s intends to her use her as ‘the ultimate party boat for Ibiza’, while the second is available to a client looking to embrace the awesome manoeuvrability, exceptional cruising comfort and total custom construction options that have made the Vanquish brand the talk of the motoryachting industry over the past year. The VQ54 is designed by Guido de Groot with Studio Delta being responsible for the naval architecture brief. After making a big splash with the VQ48 at the Cannes and Monaco shows, Vanquish developed this new icon of powerboat style and excitement with a number of specific requirements in mind. The VQ54 will be able to reach a thrilling 45+knotsthanks to the deployment of MAN i6-800 in-line six-cylinder engines, which recently won the international Red Dot design award. And the boat comes with its own tender bay, which can easily accommodate a Williams 285 Turbojet. “This two-boats-in-one design opens up a world of options for the owners,” says Tom Steentjes, CEO of Vanquish Yachts. “The fast Williams tender is ideal for wakeboarding with the kids on the open sea within safe reach of the VQ54. At the same time it allows easy access to quayside restaurants for lunch or a trip to the beach. However it is used, we designed the door of the tender garage to open aft in order to facilitate easy departure and docking.” The VQ54 can actually take this whole concept further by becoming a superyacht tender in its own right. “If you are looking for a boat within a boat within a boat, this must surely be the ultimate solution,” adds Steentjes. “The VQ54 makes for a highly comfortable yet super-speedy guest tender that can also be taken out to explore bays and inlets, with the Williams then being launched to literally and metaphorically go the extra mile onto the shore.”
