Danos Awarded Contract for Hess Stampede Platform
Danos has secured a contract to perform mechanical hook-up and commissioning (HUC) support services for the Hess Stampede tension leg platform (TLP) in the Gulf of Mexico. The Stampede deepwater oil and gas field (located approximately 185km south of Fourchon, La.) is one of the largest undeveloped fields in the Gulf of Mexico. The field is located in approximately 1,100m of water, with a reservoir depth of 9,100m. Gross recoverable reserves are estimated in the range of 300-350 million barrels of oil equivalent.
As part of the contract, more than 100 Danos employees will be working on the project across multiple locations over the next twelve months. A small project management team is in Houston planning the offshore scope and execution. They are working closely with other delivery areas to ensure a safe and successful facility start-up. Currently, Stampede is in the integration and commissioning phase. Once complete, the platform will be towed to its final destination where Danos will be supporting the hook-up and commissioning phases of the project.
