Ampelmann L-type Safely Transfers 100,000 Persons for BSP
Ampelmann has recently celebrated 100,000 safe transfers utilising the L-type system for Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP). The L-type system is installed on a fast crew vessel for daily crew change operations. Jim Craig, CEO of Ampelmann comments “We are delighted to celebrate another milestone with BSP, working together to deliver safe, reliable and cost efficient operations.” The L-type has been operating in Brunei for over two years.
Gerbrand Marbus, Manager Crew Change at Ampelmann says, “We see more focus in the offshore industry on the safety and cost of existing crew change operations. We now have a new L-type range, able to continuously transfer up to ten persons per minute in 2.0 m significant wave height. This unit can be easily transported in one standard container and only needs a single operator. The improvements can provide up to a further 30% reduction of marine spread and crew costs compared to alternatives.”
