EPG Delivers Elements for Johan Sverdrup


The elements for the Johan Sverdrup living quarters at EPG's yardOn 1 February, elements for a living quarter were placed on board heavy load carrier Meri. It weighs 1,000t and its dimensions are 55m x 40m. It is one of three modules to be built by Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia (EPG) for Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup. According to the contract with the consortium K2JV ANS, a joint venture of Kvaerner Stord and Kellog Brown & Root, EPG produces more than 2,800t of steel structures for that field. Johan Sverdrup is located 140km west of Stavanger. The field is one of the largest oil fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Peak production, estimated at 660,000bpd, will be equivalent to 40% of all NCS petroleum production.
