Falck Safety Services Accredited for GWO Scenario Based Refresher Training

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) has accredited Falck Safety Services in the Netherlands to provide the GWO refresher modules in scenario form (scenario based training). This enables Falck Safety Services to make significant quality improvements in the GWO refresher training. The main advantage is that the relevance between the five modules will be dealt with properly. Additionally, overlap between the modules will be avoided, which leaves more time for realistic scenario exercises and all learning objectives will be achieved. Finally, it leaves the customer room to implement their specific requests in the scenarios.

The duration of the combined GWO SBT refresher training is four days, the same as the refresher training of all GWO modules, and it consists of a combination of working at height, first aid, fire awareness, manual handling and survival at sea. In consultation with the wind industry companies, it will be decided which elements in the scenarios may be given extra attention.

It had been a long-held aspiration to be able to offer the GWO refresher training in scenario form, both on the part of Falck Safety Services and of several of the wind industry companies. Falck Safety Services has been offering scenario based training for the offshore and maritime industry for over ten years. During this period, Falck Safety Services has found that simulating the working environment of the participants in realistic scenarios helps to achieve the learning objectives even better. The first training will run in the second week of September at the Falck Safety Services training centre in Amsterdam.
