Marlink Grimaldi Group Contract
Leading satellite communications provider Marlink has signed a new contract with Italian Shipping Company the Grimaldi Group. The new agreement includes delivery and installation of Marlink’s Sealink Ku-band services onboard six Grimaldi passenger vessels operating throughout the Mediterranean. “Our new agreement with Marlink will enable us to provide passengers and crew with high quality, reliable Internet, voice and GSM services, which is imperative in today’s market,” comments Giancarlo Coletta (left), Purchasing Director ,Grimaldi Group.Marlink is one of few maritime satellite communications providers to have obtained general authorizations issued by the Italian Government for use with its Italian customers. This permits the enabling of satellite network services on Italian flagged vessels with a VSAT onboard. Also commenting on the new agreement, Tore Morten Olsen, CEO, Marlink said: “Our Sealink VSAT is a flexible solution which can be tailored to meet customers’ individual requirements and provides exceptional value for high bandwidth users.
