Far Samson Sails With Autoload Stability Software
Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada is pleased to announce Farstad Shipping‘s Ship of the Year, Far Samson sails with Autoload onboard stability software. Far Samson is a construction support vessel with a length of 121.5 m and a beam of 26 m, outfitted at Aker Yard Langsten and designed and equipped by Rolls Royce (RR).
The Far Samson was built according to DNV‘s strict environmental class ‘Clean Design’. Onboard is the RR hybrid propulsion system combining diesel electric and mechanical transmission making it very fuel efficient and producing minimal exhaust emissions. Catalytic converters on the generator sets reduce the nitrogen oxide by 95%. The vessel’s world record bollard pull of 423 t can create 2.5 m ditches pulling a remote controlled plough on the seabed.
Located in Ålesund, Norway, Farstad Shipping is a major international supplier of large, modern offshore support vessels. The company have installed Autoload on all vessels since 2000 and they recently made the decision to purchase the program fleet wide.
