Lloyd’s List Global Award For Intersleek 900


ll09_webInternational Paint Ltd. are proud to announce that the fluoropolymer foul release coating, Intersleek 900 has won a prestigious Lloyd’s List Global Award in the Clean Seas Category 2009. The Clean Seas Award, sponsored by the Bahamas Maritime Authority, honours an institution, firm or individual which has made a recognisable contribution to the fight towards reducing the pollution of our oceans from maritime sources.

Presented by Mr. Alastair Campbell, the renowned writer, communicator and strategist, the Award was received on behalf of International Paint by Mr. John Willsher, Business Development Manager for Intersleek. Commenting on the Award, Mr. Willsher said, “Over the last ten years, Intersleek has established an impressive track record, improving vessel efficiency and reducing emissions. We’re delighted that this contribution has again been recognised in the presentation of this Award, the fourth such Award Intersleek has won. This wouldn’t have been possible without the long term support of our major customers and we thank them for working with us. Together we can help make a difference”.

Tom Leander, Editor, Lloyd’s List, speaking before the Awards Ceremony said, “With the maritime industries experiencing the most challenging economic and operational times in decades, the performance and business competence of its leading players and internationally-renowned companies have come under the greatest scrutiny. It is against this background that Lloyd’s List will recognise the elite of the global maritime industries for business performance, commitment and initiative at these prestigious inaugural global awards in London”.

The distinguished judging panel included, Mr. Corrado Antonini, Chairman Fincantieri: Miss Sabrina Chao, Wah Kwong Holdings: Mr. Michael Drayton, Chairman Baltic Exchange: Mr. Michael Grey, former editor of Lloyd’s List: Mr. Efthimios Mitropoulos, Secretary General of the IMO and Mr. Torben Skaanild, CEO Baltic Exchange and International Maritime Council.
