william-van-amstelb1Yellow & Finch Publishers have appointed William van Amstel as Senior Editor. William van Amstel previously held a position with the Royal Netherlands Navy where he served as Chief Petty Officer. Welcoming his appointment, publisher and chief executive editor Dennis Vinkoert, stated: “Having quite a number of maritime books and articles on his name William comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in editorial work and both maritime and naval experience. His addition to the team will enrich Yellow & Finch and further enable its development into a truly international maritime publishing house.”
William van Amstel said: “I am honoured and thrilled to join Yellow & Finch, an indigenous publishing house that has developed into a successful maritime brand competing on a global scale and I look forward to embracing this challenge.”
The maritime heritage is and has been part of his life since 1968 when he started documenting warships. This resulted in publishing books about the Royal Netherlands Navy and writing numerous articles. “Fair Winds and Following Seas” was the quote used by his former USN CAPT when he left the former Yugoslav theatre after a service of six months. Later this quote was used when he retired from the Royal Netherlands Navy after a dedicated naval service of 33 years. “To be involved with leading maritime magazines such as SuperYacht Industry, ShipBuilding Industry and Offshore Industry Working is a real challenge and… another dream that has come true!”.
