Worldwide Regional Support from IHC Merwede & Bakker Sliedrecht

ihcbakker_webIHC Merwede, represented by Mr. J.H. Hylkema (right), and Bakker Sliedrecht represented by Mr. J.M. Verhoeven, entered into an agreement this week to provide local support for clients throughout the world, starting in China. From the existing regional IHC Merwede service centre in Tanggu, China, electrical-systems experts will provide the support clients need.

The new arrangement includes the establishment of a joint pool of Chinese engineers who specialize in electrical systems and who will receive training and support from both companies. As a result, optimal support will be available for Chinese clients both during and after the guarantee period.

For the time being, the initiative will mainly target the dredging market. But in the future, other market segments such as the offshore market are sure to follow. Both IHC Merwede and Bakker Sliedrecht expect to extend this arrangement also to other regions and other types of services such as condition monitoring.

For IHC Merwede  this collaboration is a perfect fit with its strategy of providing clients with support right through to the operations on vessels built by IHC Merwede to achieve maximum performance at minimal cost during the entire life cycle of the vessels. Collaboration with a leading partner such as Bakker Sliedrecht confirms IHC Merwede’s ambition to provide optimal service and expertise for its clients.
