First Large Jongert Motor Yacht
30 March Jongert Shipyard launched Lucia-M, a 39m motor yacht, type name 3900MY. Lucia-M is the first motor yacht of these dimensions ever built by Jongert. The motor yacht line has been developed as a respond to requests by several customers who appreciate the design of Jongert sailing yachts, but prefer a motor yacht.
The motor yacht line is planned to be extended, but only in addition to the existing activities. Lucia-M is a semi-displacement aluminium yacht with naval architecture by Azure, and interior and exterior design by Guido de Groot Design. Its maximum speed is 28 knots, and cruising speed is 24 knots. Both the hull and superstructure are aluminium. The focus of the yard is still on the development and construction of sailing yachts.
It is owned by a German hotel developer. Folkert Brongers, general manager of Jongert Shipyard comments: “Lucia-M is his third motor yacht and he is an experienced motor yacht owner. He knew Jongert for many years and when he wanted to have a new motor yacht built, he chose Jongert. In my opinion that’s a huge compliment.” The yacht includes technical innovations such as the glass bridge and the monitoring system. Like the 5200M sailing yacht by Jongert, the yard again aims to put emphasis on privacy, luxury, comfort and space.
In addition to the 3900MY, a 2400M sailing yacht will be launched this year. A foreign customer placed on order for this yacht last year, shortly after the re-launch of activities by new management.
