Maintenance & Repair of Aker Wirth Products

In cooperation with the Aachen Chamber of Commerce, Aker Wirth has developed a new, modular training scheme for the maintenance and repair of Aker Wirth drilling platform products. On 30 June 2010 the first course participants were awarded their Chamber of Commerce certificates for this specialist training. This further training course is only open to staff who have the appropriate technical qualifications, several years of practical experience and a very good level of English.

“Our products are special components integrated in very complex drilling systems. In order to commission and maintain our equipment you require high-level training and very specific, complex know-how”, explained Christoph Kleuters (l), the Aker Wirth CEO. The course includes specialist training on specific products and the participants are trained step-by-step according to the complexity of the tasks required for the Aker Wirth products. These extra-occupational courses last up to six months and take place in our Aker Wirth Competence Center for adult education. The course combines theoretical and practical seminar units with training on simulators as well as workshops in our production plant.

“The different qualification levels ensure that our staff is ideally trained for our different areas of activity and also prepared for our customers’ different requirements. As a result, our customers can request exactly the right specialist for his particular production process. Our cooperation with the Aachen Chamber of Commerce means that we have an independent partner whose certificates are recognised worldwide”, concluded Christoph Kleuters.
