Sevenstar Race Returns

sevenstar_race_An international fleet of 30 yachts will line up 23 August, for the start of the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race – a fully crewed non-stop race organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club. The last race took place in 2006 and then was also sponsored by Sevenstar, a leading provider of yacht transportation services, specialising in yacht and motorboat shipment.

The course is 1,802 nautical miles and will take up to 11 days to complete. Most taking part will be happy to complete the challenge, but some, like Mike Slade’s 100ft maxi, ICAP Leopard will be out to set yet another record which stands at just over 7 days for the race. Founded in 1999 in the Netherlands, the race’s sponsor Sevenstar is a provider of yacht transportation services. They ship over 2,000 yachts per year to their destinations, all over the world.
