40m Sunseeker
Sunseeker International will launch a brand-new 40m yacht at this year’s Southampton Boat Show. The firm’s new flagship (available to view at marina berth M540) builds on the success of the 37m yacht of which nine have been delivered to date, the new 40m Yacht incorporates all the best elements of the 37m yacht but also features new elements such as balconies and increased exterior deck spaces.
Approaching the vessel, the most noticeable development is that the stern has an increased rake which gives an impressive streamlined profile. Steps curve inwards on each side of the hydraulic central bathing platform, providing a true superyacht feel when boarding. The main deck cockpit is also significantly larger than on the 37m version, with an extended aft deck, allowing for a number of customised layouts to suit each clients requirements.
Light is a major feature of the vessel. Following classification approval the large panoramic portlights have been incorporated into the guest cabins of the lower deck, transforming the side profile of the yacht and allowing the lower deck guest cabins to bathe in natural light. Extra space is also achieved on the skydeck, where the removal of the fixed raised sunbathing area forward allows the floor level to be extended, providing significantly more deck space and more flexibility for highly customised layouts to suit personal use.
The company already has several 40m yachts in production, and more on order.
