iPad on Superyacht
Van Berge Henegouwen Installaties (VBH) presents their control system for onboard high-tech systems with the integration of the iPad. Recently the company has equipped 12 areas of an 85m superyacht with iPads. The company believes this device perfectly suits the superyacht industry.
With its intuitive and personalised look and feel, high-speed operation, the company believes the iPad perfectly suits the superyacht industry where ease of use, integration and having the latest technology onboard are key issues. VBH has taken the iPad integration beyond the standard ‘apps’ and uses it as an integrated control device for the onboard audio visual systems, room environment settings and other integrated systems. In close collaboration with engineers from Crestron, a way of communicating with the onboard Crestron system was developed. This provides the iPad with the same functionalities as a Crestron panel, with all additional benefits of an iPad. Recently the company also integrated the iPhone with the on board Cisco Call Manager, which means that the iPhone can use all the benefits of the onboard Cisco phone system.
