ACE Winches In Northern Star


alfie-cheyne_webRecently, ACE Winches won its fourth award in recognition of its exporting prowess by receiving the Achievement in Internationalisation Award at the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Northern Star Business Awards Event. Since 2008 ACE’S international revenue has increased by 133%. Forecasted international sales to October 2010 of GBP 11 million, represent 65% of total revenue.

Chief Executive Officer Alfie Cheyne, acknowledged in his winning speech the fantastic achievement and endorsement for the whole team at ACE Winches: “We are a company that has its roots very firmly in the north east of Scotland and we are committed to growing our business from this area. Everyone at ACE has worked tremendously hard to get us to where we are now and each time we win an award it is recognition and reward for everyone within the company. We are extremely fortunate to have secured quality business during the economic down turn, and of course our teams have excelled in delivering quality ACE products and services on time to our international clients. We look forward as a company to enjoying the rewards of our labours and continuing with our growth and quality strategy on a global basis.”

ACE Winches won a Scottish Offshore Achievement Award for exports and also won the Business Success (Over 3 years) award at the Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise 2010 in June. In July, Mr Cheyne and his wife Valerie, who is the company’s chief financial officer, were presented to the Queen after ACE Winches received the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2010 International Trade. ACE Winches is a private business wholly owned by Alfie and Valerie Cheyne. From the outset the company’s main objective to secure the long term future for its workers and their families, is by achieving sustained growth, success and profitability. This objective has been achieved through a policy of long-term organic growth, careful cash management, an avoidance of high-risk expenditure and re-investment of profits back into the business.
