First Cutting for 140 m
At Fincantieri‘s shipyard in Muggiano (La Spezia), work commenced on the construction of the mega yacht ordered from Fincantieri at the end of last year. Being 140 m long, Ficantieri believes Hull No. 6218, project Victory, is the first mega yacht over 100 m ordered since the onset of the financial crisis in October 2008. Camper & Nicholsons International represents the client throughout the construction.
Based on a new concept that is the brainchild of the Monaco based naval design architect Espen Oeino and the Paris based interior designer Alberto Pinto, the project Victory has been developed by the Fincantieri Yachts team. The yacht will feature seven decks, six pools of up to 8 m long and an internal floodable dock for a 14m tender. Great attention will be given to implementing environmentally friendly solutions. Giovanni Romano, head of Fincantieri Yachts, commented: “This mega yacht is the start of another ‘adventure’ which proves we were right to enter this area of the market, an exclusive niche where we set out to base our success both on product quality and the efficiency of our construction process. The shipyard is currently completing their first mega yacht, Hull No. 6154. At 134 m, she will be launched in the next few weeks and delivered to the owner by the end of the year.
