First Mobilarm VHF Locator Delivery To US Navy

mob_v200__webMobilarm has completed the on schedule delivery of its V200 VHF Locator Beacons – a new submariner version of the V100 VHF – to the United States Navy for sea trials and evaluation as part of a Sole Source contract awarded to the company by the United States Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). Since the V200 delivery the US Navy has confirmed completion of successful pressure testing trials down to 450 m (1,500 ft).

Considered as a safety-enhancing addition to survival suits, to enable locating and tracking of evacuated submariners, the V200 has been specifically developed by Mobilarm for US Navy submariners for escape and abandonment and is expected to lead to the product being recommended as a standard for submarine escape systems across all NATO submarine defence forces.

Mobilarm CEO Lindsay Lyon commented: “It’s a major step forward for Mobilarm to have the opportunity to supply a major defence force with safety equipment, potentially leading to the product being recommended as a standard for submarine escape systems across all NATO submarine defence forces. Successful V200 trials and NAVSEA’s move to procurement of the device from Mobilarm will represent the most significant commitment of individual submariner safety and survival equipment since the Beaufort Mk11 SEIE (survival suit) in 2008.”
