Super J Class in Monaco

lionheart2Hoek Design announces that J Class Lionheart, which recently left the Claasen Jachtbouw shipyard, is on its way to Monaco, to be displayed during the upcoming yacht show. With her aluminium hull and carbon rigging she is completely optimised according to the new J Class regulations. Three years of preparation and research took place to create a Super J with the best possible performance.

Thorough research was performed by Hoek Design, in collaboration with Piet van Oossanen, into the characteristics of twelve Super J’s that were designed in the 1930s, and eventually resulted in the design for Lionheart. She is completely developed with racing in mind, more than anything else.

The Claasen/ Hoek Design team are currently working on two other J Class yachts, Atlantis and Svea.
