Damen Shipyards Group Appoints Arnout Damen COO
The Board of the Damen Shipyards Group has the pleasure to announce the appointment of Arnout Damen as of 1 December 2010 as Chief Operations Officer of the Damen Shipyards Group. He succeeds Erik van der Noordaa who, after 22 years, has decided to leave the company and who has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer at Germanischer Lloyd, Hamburg, Germany as of 1 December 2010.
Arnout Damen (40) is the founder of Navingo, a Dutch maritime media company. For a number of years Arnout Damen has been an active member of the Board of the Damen Shipyards Group. This appointment is in line with the policy of the shareholders to maintain the company as a family-owned enterprise.
As of 1 December 2010, the Executive Board of the Damen Shipyards Group shall be formed by:
– René Berkvens – Chief Executive Officer
– Bernard Tijs – Chief Financial Officer
– Arnout Damen – Chief Operations Officer
Kommer Damen remains Chairman of the Board.
