Extended Refit Facilities
Ağanlar Boatyard announces a major extension of their boat building and refit yard in Bodrum, Turkey. By highlighting the unique new facilities and skills that the shipyard brings to the superyacht refit market, it aims to position itself as a credible and cost-effective centre for refit and newbuild projects of yachts up to 55 m. Their recently installed Cimolai Technology travel lift is one of the latest additions to the yard.
The shipyard somments that their travel lift is the largest in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is an impressive structure with a capacity of 52m length, an 11.5m beam, and 450t displacement. Erdem Agan, CEO, comments: “We have a tremendous local pool of talented boat builders, designers and engineers. We are investing EUR 5 million in these facilities to compete with the best yards in Europe but with the distinct advantage of a lower labour-cost base.”
