Siemens Wins ConocoPhillips Order

pbitm-jasmine-1Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery from Hengelo, the Netherlands, has secured an order with ConocoPhillips Petroleum Company UK Limited for the supply of a compressor unit for offshore gas extraction. The multimillion-euro order is part of the recently approved Jasmine Development in the UK central North Sea. The compressor unit will enable the recovery of low pressure gas from the existing J-Block and future Jasmine production in the North Sea.

The compressor will be installed on the new Judy Riser platform (which forms part of the Jasmine Development) adjacent to the existing Judy platform. The scope of supply for Siemens Hengelo includes a skid, on top of which a compressor, a frequency-controlled 2.3 MW electric motor with variable speed and a gearbox are mounted. Siemens will also supply other required equipment, such as a strategic stock of spare parts. Delivery of the compressor unit is planned for late 2011. Expectations are that the production from the Jasmine field will start in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The Siemens compressor unit will enable recovery of low pressure gas from the existing J-Block (Judy/Jade) and future Jasmine production. It will be installed on the new Judy Riser platform (JRP) adjacent to the existing Judy platform. The Jasmine Development in the UK central North Sea encompasses the Jasmine Living Quarters (JLQ), the Jasmine Well Head Platform (JWHP) and a pipeline to the Judy Riser Platform.
