Feederlines Implement GL’s Fleet Management Software

nordland-wisaforest-source-feederlines_webThis year, GL Maritime Software’s fleet management software GL ShipManager and GL FleetAnalyzer will be implemented on board of 48 ships of Dutch shipping company Feederlines BV. Feederlines BV was founded as part of the Hartmann Group in 1995. The company owns a fleet of more than fifty vessels, consisting of dry cargo vessels from 2,500 up to 9,000 DWT and container feeder vessels from 290 TEU up to 750 TEU.

Feederlines has chosen to use the Technical Management, Procurement, Compliance Management and Ship&Voyage Management systems on board their vessels for better decision support, time and cost reductions, and higher efficiency and transparency across the entire fleet. The software suite improves data and information management, and ensures, via data synchronization, that the same information is available on board and onshore. The GL FleetAnalyzer combines extracted data from the operational systems to summarized fleet performing reports.

Strong Position
Over the years, Feederlines BV has built a strong position in the Short Sea sector, especially with the transport of forest products. Furthermore, regular services are provided for a large number of operators. The Group’s takeover of the chartering organisation MTL in Duisburg in 1998 gave Feederlines a further lift. The fleet transports about 7 million t of bulk and container cargo per year. Moreover, the company has ordered further newbuildings to meet the current demands.
