New Helicopter Training Platform STC-SAIO
Rotterdam located STC-SAIO – member of the STC-Group – has installed a new extensive helicopter training platform with integrated free-fall lifeboat and stainless steel helicopter-module. With the installation of the 28,000kg helicopter training platform STC-SAIO has taken another step towards becoming the most renowned ‘Full Service Provider’ for the offshore and maritime industry of the Netherlands.
The helicopter training platform will be used for various training objectives, ranging from helicopter landing officer training to helicopter fire-fighting training and was built by MBL-Holland and was designed in close collaboration with STC-SAIO. VNV Techniek and Neddeck Marine have supported MBL-Holland and STC-SAIO in the design and construction process.
The new helicopter training platform and training helicopter provide STC-SAIO the opportunity to:
- Expand existing basic offshore training programs with more hands-on training.
- Expand the number of officially recognised Opito, Nogepa and OLF training programs, such as helicopter landing officer, helicopter deck assistant, helicopter firefighting and reader firefighting and rescue team.
All companies involved have comprehensive experience in the engineering and installation of training centers for the offshore Industry. It was a challenge for all parties involved to comply with the high quality standards set by the STC-Group and STC-SAIO to make the training situations realistic and safe for both the course members and instructors.
