New Organisation

interwell2The companies previously known as Well Technology Group (WTG), Brønnteknologiutvikling (BTU) and PI Intervention have come together with a new name and brand identity and will now be operating globally as Interwell. Interwell is a high-technology well intervention specialist offering  well barrier solutions available in the upstream oil and gas sector, and supplying bridge plugs in Norway. The new organisation will focus on the core competencies.

The core competencies include research, development, operation and testing of tools and technologies to ensure increased hydrocarbon recovery and barrier security for global upstream energy companies.  The move has also seen the firm open a new facility in Aberdeen and create nine new jobs in the city as it embarks on an ambitious growth strategy.

CEO of Interwell, Tor Olav Meberg comments: “The name Interwell signifies our ambitions for international growth as well as our recognised expertise in well intervention. We will continue to focus on what we do best; well intervention, but operating under one brand, we are confident that we will deliver an even stronger product to the market.” More than 12 years of research and development has been invested in Interwell’s product range. Its slim, ultra-high expansion mechanical bridge plugs and straddle solutions have some of the highest pressure and temperature ratings in the industry. They also provide a range of other intervention products including low profile gauge hangers and utilise their in-house engineering expertise to deliver bespoke solutions tailored to clients’ specific well challenges.

The new Aberdeen team is led by managing director Andrew Louden, a former Schlumberger and Helix-RDS manager who spent half of his 20-year career overseeing well operations at Marathon and BP. Interwell has global offices in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Oman, in addition to its operations in Norway and new base in Aberdeen.
