XDT Tools Announces New Senior Appointment


offshore-industry_cliff-brannanX Drilling Tools (XDT), a member of international oilfield services organisation Reservoir Group, has bolstered its growth with the announcement of a new senior level appointment. Cliff Brannan joins XDT as regional business development manager for the UK, Europe and Africa, bringing a strong technical background in line hanger completions, casing and cementing to the role. Mr Brannan has more than 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector.

In addition, he started his career as an offshore turbo drilling service engineer with the French company Neyrfor. He worked in PDC drill bit technology and then became an offshore liner completions technician, before moving into a sales engineering and management role that saw him spend the last six years working in West and South Africa, Dubai, Libya and Oman. Mr Brannan returned to the UK in 2010.

Servicing the global oil and gas industries, XDT was established with the intention of becoming the preferred choice for performance-enhancing, downhole drilling products. Its primary focus is on the globalisation of a range of downhole roller-reamers and ancillary tools, as well as bringing new products to market.

Focus
Mr Brannan’s focus will be to expand XDT’s client base in the UK, Western Europe and Africa. He said: “I am excited to be taking on this role because not only is it a new position for me, it is also a new area of business development for XDT. The company has a range of excellent, innovative products, both existing and in development, to bring to the market, I’m looking forward to playing a pioneering role in raising XDT’s profile in the region.” Managing director of XDT, Malcolm Greener, added: “I am pleased to welcome Cliff to XDT.
