ICoTA Calls For Innovative Award Entries

icota_chairman_webThe Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) is inviting nominations for its coveted European Chapter Innovation Award. The award recognises a service company or operator for the application of technical innovation in the area of well intervention. The deadline for entries is 23 September; the winner will be announced at the SPE/ICoTA European Well Intervention Round table in Aberdeen on 15-16 November. Entries will be judged by the Committee of ICoTA European Chapter.

While Offshore Europe attracts delegates from across the globe to Aberdeen, international technical expertise is high on the news agenda. And as part of its annual event, ICoTA is calling on companies who have pushed the boundaries of technical innovation in well intervention to showcase their products and knowledge. ICoTA Europe chairman, Rob Grassick, said: “With the number of aging reserves in the North Sea, well intervention has never been a more important consideration. This award highlights the many exciting new technologies being deployed in this sub-sector and also showcases the existing technologies being used.”

As Many As Possible
“While these awards are important in recognising the value and innovation that companies bring to the oil and gas industry, they also support ICoTA’s aims of enhancing communication, gathering technical expertise and promoting safety, competence and industry accepted practices. We’d like to see as many award entrants as possible so that we can continue to acknowledge their efforts, not just in Aberdeen, but through ICoTA internationally and across the wider industry.”
