Pieter Schelte Pipe Tensioner Gearboxes Contract To Aandrijf Technisch Buro B.V.
Swiss-based Allseas Group S.A. awarded Aandrijf Technisch Buro B.V. for the supply of sixteen planetary gearboxes to be used on the four 500t tensioners of the Pieter Schelte. The planetary gearboxes with bevel input are exceeding the max. output torque of 1,400 kNm and will be produced at Dinamic Oil in Italy. The gearboxes will be supplied with hydraulically lifted disc brakes to keep the maximum of 500t tensioning capacity. Delivery of the gearboxes is foreseen in early 2012.
