farstad_200Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is appointed project manager of the Joint Industry Project Energy Efficient Offshore Partners. The partnership involves a collaboration of seven Norwegian offshore shipping companies – BOA Offshore, Eidesvik Offshore, Farstad Shipping, Gulf Offshore Norge, Havila Shipping, Siem Offshore and Solstad Offshore – and aims to identify offshore shipping energy efficiency and fuel saving initiatives. The project’s first phase is scheduled for completion spring 2012.

The project aims to identify and implement best practice solutions with regards to energy efficiency, acknowledging that the synergies between energy efficiency and environmental impact will be a competitive advantage for the partners. With the knowledge that the offshore industry can reduce emissions, the partners recognise that there will be a much greater impact through working together as a co-operation than individually. The project’s first phase is scheduled for completion spring 2012.

Common Platform
