Ned-Deck Marine Repeat Orders for Movable Davits

davit-on-trackNed-Deck Marine will deliver movable hydraulic A-frame pivoting davits onboard PX121 design PSV’s at a leading Norwegian shipyard. In non-operating conditions, the davit is located behind a wall under the wheel house for two reasons: More available deck space onboard the PSV; Protecting the davit system and fast rescue boat from harsh weather conditions offshore.

“The offshore market is continuously looking for more efficient solutions, better quality products and improved designs that suite their needs, which means customer care and client specific solutions are required more often,” says Managing Director Martin Dannenberg. “A strong competence of Ned-Deck Marine’s skilled engineering department.”

By means of a track, the davit can be moved from the inside area to the outside position, immediately ready for launch and recovery of the fast rescue boat. It is moved with a hydraulic motor, operated by means of a joystick on the wired remote control. In dead ship situation it is even possible to move the davit from the inside to the outside position by means of stored power. Therefore, the davit system is fully in compliance with the latest SOLAS regulations.

After successful delivery and installation of the first two sets of these movable davit systems for Blue Ship Invest, the Norwegian shipyard awarded repeat orders to Ned-Deck Marine.

This davit series can be made suitable for vessels operating in arctic conditions as well.
