Valeport Launches VRS-20 Radar Level Sensor

For accurate tidal information, Valeport has launched its VRS-20 – a 25 GHz pulsed k-band radar level sensor that works seamlessly with the TideMaster tide logger. It can operate standalone with optional integrated GPRS telemetry or interface to a third party data logger. Communication is conducted via three standard methods, RS232, RS485 and SDI 12. With a wide range 9 – 28v DC power supply, integrated spirit bubbles for levelling and a bar fixing for GPS antenna use, the VRS-20 is both versatile and simple to install.

Accurate tidal information is critical for port and harbour operations, dredging, surveying, instrumentation deployments, and many other applications. The VRS-20 addresses a number of the issues traditionally associated with water level measurement through non-contact technology which removes the installation, corrosion & fouling issues of submerged sensors, while simplifying datum control. Accuracy and performance are unaffected by changes in water density and atmospheric conditions.

Valeport offers a comprehensive range of equipment for tide gauge equipment deployed for either shore based or offshore/seabed applications, together with telemetry packages for secure data transfer.
