The French shipbuilding industry represented at IMDEX

Singapore, France’s largest trading partner in Southeast Asia and the third largest in Asia, is the fourth largest recipient of French investments in Asia, behind China, Japan and Hong Kong. The country’s strong growth in recent years was supported by an increase of large projects and major French companies were able to win a number of tenders. Defense cooperation plays a central role in the bilateral relationship between France and Singapore that spends 25% of its budget on security, especially in the maritime sector.
Attracted by this favorable economic environment, the GICAN (Groupement des Industries de Construction et Activités Navales) will take part in IMDEX (International Maritime Defense Exhibition & Conference) from May 14 to 16, 2013 in the French Pavilion, to promote the expertise of French industry. Sixteen companies will be present at the Changi Exhibition Center to showcase their best products and services in the field of maritime and naval defense. Presentations will be made to Navy Chiefs of Staff, Senior Military Officers, Defense Officials, Government Representatives and industry leaders from all around the world.
