SMST’s Fast Response AHC
For several of the world’s leading offshore players, SMST has delivered AHC knuckle boom cranes with the fastest response times available on the market, according to the company. With secondary controlled hydraulic systems and advanced real time motion data control systems, the cranes’ deepwater winches ensure accurate and safe subsea installations at up to 3,000 m water depths. SMST’s range of AHC cranes vary in capacity from 15 to 200 t swl, and the hoists are also rated for manriding operations.
The compact design incorporates extensive safety features. In the pedestal of the crane a double-drive hydraulic power unit increases redundancy if a power failure occurs. Energy used for the AHC is stored in an Energy Storage system to save energy and handle large power fluctuations. Based in the Netherlands, SMST delivers a wide range of offshore handling equipment, including pipelay equipment, winches, skidding systems for offshore construction vessels, drillships and FPSOs.
