FoundOcean Announces CAPE Holland Acquisition

The FoundOcean Group have recently acquired a majority stake in the Dutch vibro-piling specialist CAPE Holland. UK-based FoundOcean, whose main activities focus on the grouting, IRM and strengthening and modification of monopiles, have reported the move as part of an ambitious, long-term plan for growth, offering their offshore clients an extended range of closely-aligned services.
The two companies will continue to operate as separate businesses under the newly formed parent company, FoundOcean Group.

Adjacent Assembly

Jim Bell, Managing Director of FoundOcean explained the rationale behind the acquisition, saying, “The board of the FoundOcean Group aims to assemble businesses which are adjacent to FoundOcean’s existing activities and contribute innovative and exceptional technologies to the offshore construction industry. CAPE Holland, with their vibe-piling technology, are seen as fitting these requirements perfectly.”

Like-Minded Leaders

Laurens de Neef, Managing Director at CAPE Holland, agreed with Mr Bell, saying, “Bringing together like-minded innovative companies, we are also the leaders in their fields, is a fundamental step towards being able to offer the global offshore construction industry a more progressive and competitive option.”
Mr De Neef further stated the view that vibro-piling presented benefits that outweighs impact hammering or drilling of piles. “Putting aside the considerable reduction in noise pollution, our technology offers improved handling efficiency, rapid penetration speeds, which can exceed 6m per minute, more accurate verticality during the installation process as well as the advantage of pile extraction and repositioning in the event of a refusal.”

Natural Step

Mr Bell concluded, “Expanding FoundOcean’s range of solutions for offshore clients is a natural step in the Group’s ambitious growth plans. The whole team strives to continually set the standard in securing the foundation for future energy.”
