Loading of the STL elements (EPG)

Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia (EPG) has accomplished construction of oil and gas loading elements for Norwegian client NOV APL. The Submerged Turret Loading System (STL) elements will be installed on the Martin Linge oil field.  The diameter of the elements is 15m, and the height is 18m. Total weight is over 500tons. The elements are similar to the devices of an earlier order from NOV APL which were delivered by EPG in February this year.

The STL technology offers a flexible and cost-effective solutions for oil loading tankers and Floating Storage and Offloading. In recent months the company delivered also STL elements for the Gina Krog field, Single Anchor Loading elements for the Greater Stella field and turrets for the Hebron field.

The STL elements are transported to the Martin Linge oil field with Big Lift’s Happy Roover heavy load carrier. The oil field is located in the North Sea, at a water depth of 115 meters. The gross recoverable reserves are estimated at 190 million barrels of oil equivalent. The field was discovered in 1975 and development plan was approved in 2012. First oil is scheduled for 2018.
